U-1: CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF POLITICAL ASPECTS IN THE LIGHT OF ISLAMIC PRINCIPLES

Abstract

The resurgence of religious aspects and the associated issues of political intolerance and conflict have become key to the world of the twenty-first century. Among many philosophers, Socrates’ believed that modernity would lead to a general decline of religious creed and the role of religion in political life. Modern definition of politics appears to have produced just the negative, and contemporary strive to understand the perspective and the ways in which the modern global world we live in contradicts the predictions of theocracy. This is one of the dilemmas of the modern world that we will address and spend more resources on reading and discussing the ways in which religion and politics have become involve as separate phenomenon, religion became more influential to move beyond the confines of the private realm and politics has no concern regarding religious aspects. The first part of the research paper will present the classical statements in the politics of religion, word politics both the Islamic and the theocracy traditions and ideology, history of politics, discussing their different perspectives as well as how to study religious philosophy behind the political aspects. We will then discuss secularization, modernization and “twin tolerations” in the context of the relationship between religion and politics. The last part of the research will take a more in depth look at the main objectives of politics and government, Islamic concepts of government and religion and fundamentalism in the world. We will explore what religion both unites and divides an entity, but also look at fundamentalism in the context of Islam.
