Abstract

The book “Al-Quran as a School Textbook", by Prof. Muhammad Ishaq Mansoori, is vital in promoting Qur'anic understanding in Pakistan. There is no formal curriculum for teaching and understanding the Qur'an for school level students in Pakistan. Many institutions are constantly striving to promote Qur'anic understanding through various courses, which lack proper curriculum design and implementation. Course material and books provide the foundation for the whole curriculum. This book fulfills the need for a basic curriculum for students of class six to matric. It matches the mental level of all the students studying at the school level. It also presents a complete package in the prescribed series at their level. Keeping in view all these qualities of Prof. Mansoori’s book, we have attempted to evaluate it by the method of description and analytics.
