Abstract

Sindh is one of the lands where Islam reached in its early times. Also, Islam spread in the Indian Sub-continent through this area. Hence it is called Bab al Islam or gateway to Islam. Many parts of Sindh have remained centers of knowledge, and Thatta is one of them. It is the birthplace of many scholars. According to some historians, there were about four hundred colleges in Thatta only, where students from different parts of the world came to seek Islamic knowledge. Thatta was famous for Islamic knowledge. There lived many scholars in this city who taught various subjects. Makhdoom Hashim Thatwi, Makhdoom Muaeen Thatwi, Abul Hasan Thatwi, and other scholars belonged to this city. These scholars taught Islamic knowledge and wrote countless books on various topics. These books are studied by both Arab and Non-Arab scholars.  Makhdoom Qaim Thatwi was one of the scholars of Thatta. He rendered many services for Islam. He also wrote many books on different topics.
